₦175k Zealot S78 vs ₦56k BoomBest LN-716BT: Is ₦119k Extra Worth It for Bass in Nigeria?

“NEPA took light at 2pm during 43°C Lagos heat. I had 2 speakers: a ₦175k Zealot S78 and a ₦56k BoomBest LN-716BT from Jumia. Both claim ‘super deep bass’. One costs 3x more. Is the S78 really ₦119k better? Here’s what I found after testing both during Lagos blackout.” Quick Specs Comparison |  | Zealot S78 | BoomBest LN-716BT | | Price | ₦175,000 | ₦56,000 | | Battery | 16000mAh | ~3600mAh | | Power | 80W | 10W | | Bass Claim | “Super Bass” | “Super Deep Bass” | Bass Test - Small Room BoomBest at 60% volume: decent bass, clean sound. At 100%: distorts, muddy. S78 at 60% volume: you feel bass in your chest. At 100%: clean, loud, room-filling. For bedroom/1 room: BoomBest holds its own. For parties/outdoor: S78 justifies the price. https://www.jumia.com.ng/boombest-ln-716bt-powerful-solid-super-deep-bass-portable-home-theater-home-office-traveling-indoor-outdoor-entertainment-wireless-bluetooth-speaker-419508799.html?seller_product=1 Battery Test - NEPA Blackout BoomBest LN-71...

5 NEPA survival gadgets under ₦20k tested by Nigerian students. Zealot S53, Oraimo 20000mAh, mist fan, DP bulb, solar torch. Real blackout tests + Jumia prices + hostel hacks for UNN, LASU, UI students 2026.

NEPA took light 6 times while I wrote this article.  Last month UNN had a 3-day blackout during exam week. LASU hostel went 48hrs without power. If you’re a Nigerian student, you already know: NEPA is not your friend. I spent ₦20,000 testing gadgets through real blackouts. These 5 saved my semester. No generator noise. No ₦25k fuel bill. Just smart, cheap survival. Here’s the full kit — all under ₦20k plus on Jumia: ### **1. Zealot S53 Speaker-Powerbank — ₦35,000**  **Why it’s #1**: It’s a 4400mAh  10W bass speaker in one.  **Real Test**: During UNN’s 3-day blackout, this charged my phone 4x, my roommate’s phone 2x, AND played music for 8hrs straight. Still had 20% left. **Student Hack**: Use it to charge laptops via USB-C. Saved me during online test when NEPA died 10 mins before submission. **The Math**: ₦14k vs ₦25k generator + ₦5k fuel weekly. You do the math. **Buy Link**:  https://www.jumia.com.ng/zealot-s53-mini-speaker-portable-wireless-column-wat...

By 4AM I’d charged my phone to 80%, lit my room with 1 bulb, and my roommate’s side with the second bulb. All from the ₦20,000 DP-7724 solar kit. I tested it for 3 days in UNILAG hostel during peak NEPA. If you’re tired of candles and dead phones, read this. What’s in the Box 4000mAh Power Unit - Main box with USB port + 28W emergency light Small Solar Panel - Charges the unit during the day AC Adapter - 8hr full charge from wall socket Real Runtime Test Setup Runtime Use Case 1 Bulb + Phone Charge 20hrs + 1.5 charges Reading + phone alive all night 2 Bulbs 10hrs Light 2 rooms/hostel beds 28W Emergency Light Only 7-8hrs Main unit as floodlight Solar Charging 12hrs full sun Free charging, no NEPA needed Why ₦20,000 Makes Sense I was spending ₦1,200/week on candles + ₦500/week charging phone outside hostel = ₦6,800/month.
