I Used This ₦12k Mist Fan During UNILAG Heat Wave — Here’s What Happened👇🏽

Last week, UNILAG hostel felt like hell. 40°C, no light for 12 hours, and my standing fan was just blowing hot air in my face.

My roommate brought out this weird little gadget. It looked like a toy. Then she pressed a button and COLD MIST hit my face.

I’m talking instant AC vibes for ₦12,500

What Is This Thing?

It’s the Portable Rechargeable Ice Cooling Mist Spray Fan from Jumia.

Think:

Handheld fan +

Water spray bottle +

Mini humidifier

All in one gadget that fits in your bag.

The Unilag Hostel Test

Day 1: No Light, 38°C Room

I filled the 30ml tank with cold water from my flask. Turned it on.

Results:

Instant cooling: The mist + fan drops the air around your face by 3-5°C. Feels like standing in front of a fridge.

Battery life: 3000mAh lasted 7 hours on fan + mist mode. Charged with my power bank.

Noise: Quiet enough to use in class. Nobody knew I was secretly cooling myself during GST lecture 😂

Portability: Fits in my handbag. Used it in library, bus, even church when generator failed.

Day 3: The Real Test

NEPA took light during night prep. Room was boiling. I put ice water in the tank.

Bro... it was like having personal AC. My roommates now call me "AC girl" and beg to borrow it.

Who Needs This In Nigeria?

Buy this if you’re:

A student in hot hostels like UNILAG, OAU, UI

Taking public transport — Lagos bus heat is evil

Working outdoors or in shops with no AC

Tired of sweating through your clothes by 10am

Don’t buy if: You live in Jos or have 24/7 AC. This is for heat survivors.

Specs That Matter For Students

| **Feature** | **Why You Care** |

| **Price** | ₦12,500 on Jumia. Cheaper than 2 plates of food in Akoka |

| **Battery** | 3000mAh = 8hrs fan only, 4-7hrs with mist. USB rechargeable |

| **Tank** | 30ml. Lasts 1-2hrs of continuous spray. Refill from any bottle |

| **Weight** | 200g. Lighter than your iPhone |

| **Extra** | Can add ice water or essential oil for scent |

The Verdict From A Broke UNILAG Student

Pros:

Actually works — Not a scam. The mist is cold-cold

Battery better than my power bank

Makes you the most popular person in hot rooms

Under ₦8k = no thinking required

Cons:

Tank is small — You’ll refill 3-4 times daily in extreme heat

Not a full room AC — It cools YOU, not the whole hostel

Makes your face wet if you hold too close 😂

Rating: 9/10

Minus 1 point because Jumia finished my own color. I wanted pink.

Where To Buy So You Don’t Get Faked

I got mine from Jumia because of delivery + return policy. A lot of fake ones on roadside.

Buy yours 👇🏽

Update: If you’re reading this during heat wave, don’t wait. Hostel heat is not your mate.

P.S. I’m testing if this works with cold Zobo too. For science. Will update.
